About GHC Research Collaboration
This is a limited company registered by guarantee in Uganda with the aim of supporting research programs that are based in Uganda and beyond.GHC Research Collaboration limited also called the Global Health Collaboratve is currently supporting the core Services of Research and Human resource needed by Massachussetts General Hospital Center for Global Health for the programs based at Mbarara Rgional refferal Hospital (MRRH) and Mbarara University of Science and Technoloy (MUST). Initially focused on the care and treatment of persons living with HIV, the collaboration has grown to include cutting-edge biomedical research, technology innovation, and community-based projects to understand the local social, behavioral and economic barriers to improved health. Now with programs employing over 100 local staff and a growing expatriate administrative and clinical team, the collaboration is a significant investment in the human resource and programmatic capacity of MUST and MRRH. Active partnerships include community health, high risk obstetrics, renal unit, Pathology, oncology, pediatric nutrition (Natasha), TB , nursing, bio-medical engineering, internal medicine, global medicine residency program and the ISS clinic. The partnership has supported education of 187 masters students in the faculty of medicine .This investment in education has depeened and strengthed local clinical and research capacity.
